SpamWars Personal Edition is free for homeusers and non-commercial users. For professional needs you can start off with the personal edition for a 30-day free trial period. At the end of this trial you can carry on using SpamWars by buying a license on our website.
SpamWars Personal and Professional Editions for Linux x86 :
Download (64 Mo).
To install SpamWars on your Linux x86 system, simply run the downloaded executable script : ./spamwars-personal-linux.bin in a terminal type window. DO NOT attempt to install by double-clicking on the script in your file-manager.
(make sure your script is in ’executable’ mode. If it is not, you can make it executable by changing the mode to :
chmod +x spamwars-personal-linux.bin).
Once installed, you will automatically receive the license by e-mail in the mailbox of the account you have registered to be monitored. This license-message will be picked up by SpamWars automatically and your account will then be fully protected. Once a year, SpamWars will send you a reminder to renew your activation key.
If you choose to run SpamWars automatically when you boot and the sudo works, the file : bin/boot.sh is copied as SpamWars in /etc/init.d and a link /etc/rc3.d/S99spamwars is created. If this is not the case, you can do it manually. Depending on your Linux edition you may also need to check whether or not you are required to run your settings tool for SpamWars auto-run to work.
Before modifying the settings on your e-mail account ( Thunderbird, Opera etc) as indicated in the Installation Summary, do not forget to pick up any mail one last time.
